Two of Swords Tarot Card Meanings
In contrast to the previous card, this image has a calm sea in the background, but the figure in the foreground is trying to balance a sword in each hand while she is sat blindfolded.
My first reaction to this card is that I would not like to be this lady. Why is she sat there all alone blindfolded? I imagine the great strain she must be feeling to keep those swords held up like that, after all the position appears to be so uncomfortable. She cannot see anything else, so I assume she is totally focused on holding the swords. Plus the way her arms are crossed across her body would suggest that she is also defensive. The two swords would suggest two opposing beliefs or ideas which one is trying to balance; is this causing conflict or argument?
To call her situation difficult is an understatement to say the least. So the message this card gives me from the image is one of immense struggle and conflict; a difficult time where one is struggling to maintain balance and control, and although this may even be possible now, this will not last forever as the strain will most likely be too much.
