Ten of Swords Tarot Card Meanings
This card holds a dark and foreboding image. A man lies face down on the ground under a dark sky. Ten swords pierce him all the way from his head to his legs.
Evidently this man is dead, however, like the Death card, I don’t see this as usually showing an actual death. He has literally been stabbed in the back, which speaks to me of betrayal. When we feel betrayed, it is extremely painful. However, once the betrayal is revealed, we can see what is truly happening within the situation and move on from there.
If we think about it, what is the absolute worst that can happen? Death? So I also feel that this card is showing us that the worst has happened, yes it was bad, but things will improve now. I always see the light at the horizon in this image showing that whether the day is ending or beginning, it is over and a new day is nigh.
