Knight of Pentacles Tarot Card Meanings

This court card shows a knight on a horse, holding a coin in his hand before him.  Unlike the other knights’ cards, this horse appears to be standing completely still.

I always associate knights with action and adventure.  This knight, however, is completely motionless as he sits on his horse.  It is as if he is pondering the coin in his hand and the landscape before him; carefully deciding what would be the best next step, and his horse seems to patiently wait until the rider has made this decision.

This knight appears to contemplating how to go out and achieve his goals very careful.  Unlike the Knight of Cups who was moving forward without an unspecified direction, this knight seems as though he will not move until the plan has been well defined.  This makes me think he is reliable and hardworking who is willing to do anything to realise their financial goals.  While this knight may have well defined goals for the future, and no doubt will do whatever it takes to get to the goal, he may lack spontaneity and the ability to think outside of the box.
