Four of Pentacles Tarot Card Meanings
Here we see a man sitting and on his head is a coin, in his arms he holds another coin and there are two more, one under each foot.
This man has obviously done well for himself; he is wearing robes, has a crown on his head and has four coins. However, unlike the man in the nine of Cups image, this man does not look happy or satisfied. He does not even look comfortable in the way that he is positioned. He may have four coins, but the way he protects them makes me think he is fearful of them being taken away from him. But is there even a real threat of someone taking his coins? The city is far behind him and he is alone, holding on tightly to what he has.
There is a real miserliness about this image. As well off as the man appears to be, he clings to what he has. The problem with that is that while no-one can take what he has, he does not even have a limb free to accept another coin. It would seem that fear keeps him clinging to his coins but he has nothing real to fear and there is absolutely no chance of growth while he remains like this.
These are the Four of Pentacles tarot card meanings we use in the Free Readings on Aquarian Insight:
There is probably not much change or growth when this card appears. You may have achieved much, but for now you are unwilling to let go of what you have. This is sometimes known as the ‘Miser’s card’. Look carefully at what it is that you are clinging to; do you really need to be so careful or are you just afraid?
