Eight of Cups Tarot Card Meanings

The cups are stacked so carefully that we can clearly see that one is missing.  Despite the presence of eight cups, there is a gap; they are not enough and one more is needed.  The organised structure of the stacked cups and remembering that cups relate to emotions show that it doesn’t matter how good or even perfect we may be feeling about some things, there is still a gap.   

The missing cup and the visible moon, whose face looks down serenely, speak to me of emotions, feelings, dreams, shadows, where nothing is what it seems.  So we can assume the missing cup represents a sense or feeling that something is missing.  Until the man goes in search of that missing cup, he will not feel fully emotionally satisfied.
