I’ve been going through the comments that you have been leaving in response to the Free Readings and some of you have left questions which I thought I would answer here. Firstly, a big thank you to everyone that has left comments and I do apologise for my delay in responding. I’ve used many different plugins to enable commenting on this site, and the Facebook one has worked the best for real, genuine comments, but I don’t get a notification when a new comment is left. However, I do check out the comments regularly and these are some of the most common queries and my answers to them!
“How do the free online readings work?”
They work in a very similar way to when you do a reading at home. There is a virtual deck of tarot or playing cards and when you hit the Shuffle button, the cards are virtually shuffled in a very similar way to the way you shuffle at home. The whole process is exactly the same. So, if you want to shuffle more, just hit the Shuffle button again. The cards are then placed in the correct places for whichever spread you have chosen. The bonus aspect of an online reading is that you are given the meaning of each placement, along with the general card meaning.
I’ve seen some websites which claim that someone has actually sat and physically pulled the cards for each reading beforehand. But I am telling you that if the site is receiving any kind of traffic at all, this is not possible. Even if I skipped meals and sleep and did nothing but pulled cards for readings for 24hrs straight I’d only get through about 150 readings a day which is no way enough to cater for the number of people who visit for free readings. It’s no surprise that these types of websites will also require your e-mail address (which will then be used for marketing and even spam) before you can get your reading. So please be careful.
“How is the playing card reading so surprisingly accurate?”
If you look through the comments on the tarot card readings, people have remarked on how their reading reflected their situation and even their zodiac signs. They’re pleasantly surprised at the results from a free online reading, but it is more or less expected from the tarot. However, the comments on the Free Horseshoe Spread Playing Card Reading expressed surprise at the accuracy of the playing card readings, and I think this is because people don’t expect it from ordinary cards.
What I would say is that even tarot cards were originally used as a game, not for fortune telling. They’re just tools in the divinatory process and what is more important are the meanings we attach to the cards, be they tarot or playing cards. So an online reading with playing cards can be just as accurate as a physical ‘real’ reading.
“Need more information!”
Online readings are great especially if they’re free, but they can and should never be a replacement for real advice from a professional reader. I think online readings should be treated light-heartedly, because they can only give a general meaning for each of the cards. Each cards meaning changes depending on the position it comes up in, in a reading and also by the other cards in the reading. It is not possible to write a comprehensive list of meanings for how each card interacts with even one or two other cards, because that would be a list of thousands and thousands of meanings.
Also, most readers do not rely solely on the spread or even the card meanings. They use their natural intuition and experience to garner the information needed from a reading. I do get people sending me messages with the cards they got in a reading along with their current situation and asking me what it means. I do try and give as much information in trying to help them decipher their reading, but I can’t do more than that, because I can only ever really explain the readings I have done myself.
